Originally founded in Paddington, Papillon relocated to Avalon’s golden coastline in 2018, and quickly established itself as one of the most in-demand salons across the Northern Beaches. Our stylists, service and products are the very best of the best, and work together to deliver our clients an experience like no other.
Like the butterfly our name is inspired by, Papillon is all about beautiful transformation. Our space has been designed to offer a home from home - somewhere our community can come for sanctuary, knowing they’ll leave looking fabulous and feeling replenished.
Papillon is certified as an official ‘Sustainable Salon’, upholding the highest standards in terms of waste management, team training and overall social responsibility. Every brand of product we use is chemical free and chosen for minimal harm and maximum performance.

SALON OWNER
Deborah is the heart and soul of Papillon Hair, bringing over 20 years of industry experience to create a salon that is as beautiful as it is welcoming. Her vision was to design a space that embodies creativity, sustainability, and premium service—and she has achieved just that.
Papillon Hair is defined by its exceptional team, handpicked and mentored by Deborah to deliver a seamless and luxurious client experience. Each stylist shares her passion for excellence and her commitment to understanding and exceeding client expectations.
Deborah’s focus is now on managing the salon and ensuring everything runs smoothly, from the atmosphere to the artistry. She takes pride in supporting her talented team and fostering a collaborative environment where they can thrive and continue to grow.

Stephen Grech
SALON MANAGER & STYLIST
Stephen is our incredible salon manager. Trained in the Eastern Suburbs, he made the move to the Northern Beaches and brought over 10 years of hairdressing experience with him. His hairdressing journey has taken him from salons to the catwalk, on photo shoots, and around the world. He is known and loved for his killer cuts, razor skills, stunning upstyles and the magic he can make with short hair.
Stephen is a two time Australian Cutting Competition winner, and now also specialises in luxury blondes, creating the perfect highlights and big long hair blowouts. There’s nothing he can’t achieve for his clients. Book in and you’ll soon see for yourself!

Emma
SENIOR STYLIST
Emma is our signature long blonde girl- known for her seamless, low-maintenance, high-impact blondes, balayage and everything in between.
She specialises in Seamless One Hair Tape Extensions and is a long-hair expert who also loves creating sharp, blunt bobs and big colour transformations.
Meticulous and thorough in every detail, Emma takes great pride in creating flawless results that feel as good as they look.
Outside the salon, she loves animals, reading, the beach, travelling and spending time with friends. -
Claudia
SENIOR STYLIST
Currently on maternity leave until February 2026
Until then you can read about her and be sure to book in with her once she is backWith an impressive 14-year journey in the world of hairdressing, starting her craft at the young age of 16, she brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our salon. Having owned her own salon in South Australia for 5 years, she knows the ins and outs of the industry like no other.
Specialising in blondes, balayage, and lived-in colour, she has a keen eye for creating stunning looks that perfectly complement her clients' features and personalities. But her dedication doesn't stop at aesthetics; she's deeply passionate about maintaining the health and integrity of her clients' hair while helping them achieve their hair goals.
Beyond the salon chair, you'll often find her outdoors, soaking up the sun at the beach with her husband and adorable 1-year-old daughter. Being an active member of Avalon's community, she finds joy in connecting with others and making a positive impact wherever she goes.
With her talent, experience, and warm personality, Claudia is excited to bring her signature touch to Papillon Hair and help our clients look and feel their absolute best!

Kayley
SECOND YEAR APPRENTICE
Kayley is our bubbly and SUPER creative second-year apprentice with a passion for all things hair and makeup. She’s already known for her ultimate blow-dries, flawless tints, and the best basin massage you’ll ever experience.
Always eager to learn, Kayley is soaking up everything from colour to cutting – and brings a fun, fresh energy to the salon every day. When she’s not at Papillon, you’ll find her exploring new places, diving into her art (she loves colouring in!), loves music and all things art.

Welcome Nina to the Papillon team! With over a decade of experience in the industry, Nina brings a calm confidence and a deep passion for beautiful hair. Whether it’s a subtle refresh or a bold transformation, she loves helping clients feel their best — inside and out. Specialising in precision cuts and vibrant colour, Nina is all about creating a personalised salon experience from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave.
Outside the salon, she’s a lover of travel, nature, and all things furry (especially animals!). Now taking bookings — come say hi and treat yourself to a gorgeous hair moment with Nina.

SALON CO-ORDINATOR
Heidi is our fabulous front-of-house all-rounder. With experience in the hair industry and a love for all things fashion, she’s a true multitasker – from taking your calls and making the perfect coffee to giving a luxe basin experience and keeping everything running smoothly on the salon floor. Heidi’s warm, welcoming nature helps every client feel instantly at home the moment they step through our doors.
